Our Countryside Experience

During my search for a Corgi breeder I had found that just about anyone can claim they are a quality breeder, but with very few who truly are. The biggest concerns for my future puppy would be ensuring there was parental genetic testing, proper socialization and a healthy living environment for the first 8 weeks of their life. When I first spoke with Denise I was in awe of how detailed yet smooth her process was. Not only did I ensure she was a quality breeder, but she ensured I would be a suitable parent (this is huge!). The extensive background and reference checks provided a comfort to know that she too cared like I did and having that mutual feeling and respect was critical for the entire process. Denise made herself readily available for any and all questions, with excellent turn time on email responses. When pickup day came we were welcomed by an exceptionally clean home and a warm and loving breeder eager to show us our puppy. Denise took pride in showing the parents of current and past litters as well as throughly explaining our puppies temperament and behavior. I was sent home with a puppy gift bag, necessary health paperwork and all questions answered. Denise was also kind enough to followup for a few days to ensure our puppy settled in nicely. I could not be happier with my choice of breeder and I will absolutely reach out for a future Corgi to no other breeder than Countryside Corgis. We consider Denise our family now. Thank you!

LOOK NO FURTHER - Countryside Corgis is the Best!

I can’t stress enough the importance of having a reliable, knowledgeable, caring, and ‘there when you need them’ breeder. Denise is all of that and more. I did my research. Denise has been there for me and get this - I didn’t even get a puppy from her! My daughter’s family recently adopted a corgi puppy in the area they live in. However… even knowing this Denise helped me SO much with questions to ask the breeder to make sure parents were healthy and compatible, questions to ask the vet, suggestions regarding food, training, toys, necessities, etc. She even took the time to send me links for information, dog beds etc. She spent so much time on the phone with me and online answering my 100’s of questions. AND she gets right back to me! What she truly cares about is healthy puppies, a good match, and an overall good experience for both puppy and new family. She’s seriously pretty unbelievable. Like she told me, she treats others the way she would hope to be treated… and she truly does.

Any individuals considering purchasing a puppy from Countryside Corgis will find that it will be the best experience they have ever had with a breeder! We have worked with many breeders over the years and have never encountered one as professional, thoughtful and engaged as Denise Cass. From beginning to end of the process she has demonstrated not only that she is a meticulous and engaged breeder but that her personal concern for her dogs and for the families she places them with drives her both professionally and personally.

Admittedly we at first thought that the many questions we had to respond to and the number of references we had to submit were perhaps a bit excessive. However, as we came to know Denise, we realized that this detailed pursuit of information was only meant to ensure the very best home and care for her puppies.

Her many updates, suggestions for the puppy's health and her scrupulous breeding practices are just some of the many qualities that we admire and respect. I can add that Denise is a lovely person. She has our highest possible recommendation in every regard!

After our elderly, rescue corgi passed away in January 2020, our family decided we wanted to own another Welsh Pembroke corgi. That summer, we felt ready to begin researching corgi breeders. As our family’s “designated researcher,” I quickly learned that finding a reputable, knowledgeable, down-to-earth breeder was not going to be an easy task! I spent weeks reading about others’ experiences and researching how to determine if a breeder truly had improvement of the corgi breed as a primary goal.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it wasn’t possible for us to travel to dog shows or to visit breeders in person, as is often recommended. Therefore, we had to rely on the internet, which was a little scary. After researching dozens of websites, I came across Countryside Corgis. As I read through the website, I felt my excitement begin to grow. I knew I had finally found the breeder our family was looking for!

Denise’s website was organized, well-written, detailed, and up-to-date. Her love for the corgi breed and her concern for her dogs was apparent on every page. We especially liked how she thoroughly vetted her prospective customers. She clearly wanted to make sure her corgi puppies would go to loving homes. She talked to her customers’ character references and health tested her parent dogs. After speaking with Denise, we could tell she knew her dogs’ personalities in great detail and took special care to carefully match her puppies with the right family. We also liked that Countryside Corgis offered several different options for making payments, including an option that didn’t have extra fees.

Excellent and prompt communication is one of the many reasons we would highly recommend Denise and Countryside Corgis. During the application process and subsequent waiting period, I was anxious and eager to plan and feel a sense of control over the waiting situation. Consequently, I asked Denise hundreds of questions! Prior to submitting an application, she spent time with me on the phone, patiently answering my many questions. She emailed me a sample contract and shared additional photos of her parent dogs. All of this helped put me at ease and assured me that Denise was trustworthy. Later on, she was absolutely wonderful about returning my text messages and answering numerous questions. After we were matched with a puppy, Denise provided lots of helpful guidance and detailed suggestions for preparing for our new family member. She also sent beautiful photos each week and even a couple of video clips so we could see our spunky puppy in action!

Another reason we highly recommend Countryside Corgis is for the care that is taken to provide customers with a well-bred corgi. Denise is extremely particular about producing puppies that have a good disposition and personality. She considers multiple factors when choosing which males and females to breed. She not only looks at physical health but also personality and behavioral traits. We believe her careful attention to detail in this part of the breeding process produces the kind of dog that everyone would love to own.

When the day finally arrived to pick up our little, 9-week-old Eva, Denise and her family met us part of the way. We had a long drive from west central Florida up to Georgia, so this concession on her part was greatly appreciated. It was such a joy to finally meet, in person, the family that had produced and lovingly raised our new furry family member! Once again, Denise spent over an hour with us, answering our questions and guiding us through the final paperwork.

We have had Eva for two weeks now and we can’t get over how intelligent and sweet she is! She is healthy and full of energy. Thanks to Denise’s training and preparation, from day one, Eva has slept soundly through the night. We can tell that Denise did an excellent job of socializing Eva because of how interactive she is with all family members and how she eagerly greets new people. Normal household noises never frighten her and she is always eager to explore new things.

In summary, for anyone with high expectations in their search for a reputable corgi breeder, we can assure you, that you won’t be disappointed if you choose Countryside Corgis. It is a real pleasure to work with Denise and her family! One day in the future, we hope to add a second corgi to our family. When that day comes, we will definitely return to Countryside Corgis!

When I decided to get a puppy, I did extensive research on Corgi breeders around the country, I wanted to find a reputable breeder who was cognizant of genetic problems and was recognized for great health testing practices. I found Countryside Corgis met the criteria that was important to me.

I was impressed with the breeder, Ms. Denise Cass. She also had criteria that I had to meet before she would put me on a wait list for a puppy. The waiting for the puppy was the hardest part.

The litter was born around Halloween, and each of the puppies got a name associated with the holiday. Denise kept me posted about the litter's progress with weekly updates and pictures. And when it was getting close for me to get my pup, Denise sent me a comprehensive checklist to ensure that my puppy made a smooth and safe transition to my home. When the day arrived to pick up my puppy, I found Denise and her husband Eric to be friendly and down to earth.

I was fascinated with the elaborate environment of spacious enclosures she had created for her dogs that allowed them room to run around. The adult Corgis appeared healthy, lively, and friendly. The puppies were adorable. I was thrilled to get the one I had my heart set on, and she is absolutely delightful. The puppy I have is a little ball of energy, with an ego and personality to match.

I highly recommend Countryside Corgis for those who want a responsibly bred puppy.

My husband and I can't recommend Countryside Corgis enough! Denise and her whole family have a lot of love for each and everyone of their dogs and puppies. I really appreciated that she takes the time to make sure you are ready for the responsibility and the joy of a corgi puppy. That care is obvious when you see how wonderful all of them are (dogs and family!). Griffin (a.k.a. Triton) has been a joy from day one. He's the perfect fit for our family and I couldn't ask for a better companion! I was in the process of applying to Countryside Corgis thinking I would hopefully be lucky enough to bring a puppy home in spring or summer. I am so impressed by the detailed questions the application asks each prospective adoptive family to answer. I love that Denise won’t let her puppies go to just anyone. This was my first time using a breeder and it was a wonderful experience! Denise was not only very responsive, but also very encouraging as well! She was also accommodating and willing to meet me for the pick-up. I really like how Denise took the time to get to know me (through my application and references) before officially deciding to let me adopt one of her corgis. From the moment we met and I got my corgi (8 month old girl) I could tell she had been well taken care of and loved by Denise and her family. Bringing home Georgia aka Margarita is one of the best decisions I've ever made, as was reaching out to Denise for a spot on her waitlist. I've never purchased through a breeder before and am also a first-time puppy owner, which could have been daunting but Denise made the entire process so straightforward. She's incredibly thorough during her screening process and afterward I felt quite confident that she was the right choice - I wanted a breeder who cared just as much about the pups as the prospective owners do, and Denise fits that bill and then some. She was always extremely prompt at answering any questions or concerns I had, and was flexible with meeting and pickup arrangements as I live about 5 hours away. We especially loved her weekly updates and accompanying photos of our girl - it was so exciting to be able to follow her development in the weeks prior to picking her up.

Georgia is absolutely gorgeous, so playful and friendly, and incredibly sweet. It's clear that Denise and her husband care deeply for their dogs and finding the right fit for each pup, and I'm so happy that I get to be Georgia's mom. She has added so much joy to our every day in the last month since we brought her home. If the time comes when she needs a playmate, we'll certainly be contacting Denise again.

Your search for a Welsh Corgi breeder can stop here. When my research began in December 2017, I scoured my home state of Florida for the best breeders. There were two or three that I found who seemed the most well-known in Central Florida. However, I did not quite like the way they presented their businesses online. I attended some local Corgi events and talked with some owners, who all stated their dogs were from one of those breeders. They were recommended, and I even met a few of them. Yet I was still not 100% confident.

Then, I happened upon a post on a local corgi community group on Facebook that stated Countryside Corgis was where they found their beautiful Corgi pup. After pouring over the well-organized and professional-sounding website, I decided my vibe this time was positive. From the detailed questionnaire and required references, to the prompt and thorough email responses, I was very impressed with Denise and her breeding program. Combined with some very satisfied reviews, I knew I had found the right breeder who would not only provide me with a healthy new family member but whom I could rely on for the life of my dog for advice.

It was a long journey and Denise kept me up to date of every development. When my turn came for a litter in November, but not enough puppies were born, she emphasized that I had the right to look elsewhere. I was in no hurry, however, and was willing to wait for the right pup to come along. Patience paid off! My little Bebop was born in March and is absolutely perfect! Denise arranged an appointment via FaceTime for me to make my choice and pointed me in the right direction to a balanced personality. Bebop, then Shirley Temple, is a curious adventurer who also loves to give love! All of the attention and care she had at Countryside by Denise and her family has been evident from the start, with her ease at potty training, loving nature, and well-adjusted demeanor. The road trip to pick her up was worth it and I knew I made the right decision from the instant we met! You will not go wrong finding your new family member from Denise. I’m looking forward to making life’s journey with my little girl!

Little Pym (originally Pegasus) is approaching five months old now, and he's a healthy, happy ball of energy! My wife researched thoroughly for corgi breeders because we wanted a puppy, but we did not want one from a farm simply looking to make money. Countryside was highly recommended by everyone who dealt with them, so we reached out to Denise to get on the waiting list. She was so thorough about making sure that WE were good people to take care of one of their puppies and set clear expectations about follow-up that we knew they cared deeply about every single one of their dogs. Countryside Corgis made our Corgi dream come true. We love our Yoshi and she’s been a great addition to our house. She’s smart, sweet, and adorable. She’s been easy to potty train and we love how friendly and outgoing she is. She fits in well with our older dogs (a Labrador and a Dachshund). She’s friendly to people and dogs. I have known Denise and Eric for three years now. They are dedicated to their dogs and raising quality corgis. The attention to detail, the personal attention to their clients, and the love they show to all their dogs is exceptional. All corgis at Countryside live in clean spacious quarters and are walked every day, cared for in every way, and trained.

Having owned corgis all my life, I can attest that the corgis at Countryside are the nicest, happiest corgis you will meet, all sweet and people friendly, with exceptional temperaments, and make wonderful family pets.

When I needed a brother for my first Countryside corgi, Denise was spot on with her recommendations in helping us choose a second puppy. She gets to know her clients through the process, and she understood just the kind of puppy my second corgi needed to be to match well with my first. Denise explained the different personalities of the puppies in the litter and why Raleigh would be the best choice for us. Once at home, the two corgis hit it off immediately, love each other and are inseparable, constantly playing, cuddling and hanging out together.

Choosing Countryside Corgis and Denise & Eric has been one of the best decisions I have made. Denise is always available; the process and communications before and after picking up my puppies has been incredible. Also, I could not be happier and more pleased with the two beautiful corgis that are now part of my family.

I initially contacted Denise roughly 3 years ago about getting a Countryside Corgi. Denise was very responsive to my questions and she put me through a very thorough application process. Which is fantastic. It was very clear that she cared and loved each and every one of the puppies that she breeds and wants to ensure that they go to a good home.

When doing my own research about Country Side Corgis, it is very clear that they also put that same care into the breeding. The genetic testing done to ensure that the Corgi parents are compatible and is a must have for every breeder!

The communication from the get go with Denise is fantastic. It is clear that she is just as excited about you getting a Corgi as you are!

After the litter was born, updates about the puppies and pictures are plentiful. Her main focus is on you and pairing the right puppy to the right owner and I think Denise is a great judge of the puppies from very early on. Because of this, I recommend all prospective Corgi owners do their research and plan ahead! Despite their reputation of cuteness, they are still working dogs and might not be the right fit for everyone.

I was fortunate enough to have first pick of a tri-color male and I chose to rely on Denise's judgement based on my needs, primarily of a calm and confident puppy. She picked Monty for me, and so far Monty has met my needs 100%.

I also had to have Monty transported to Eastern PA from CSC HQ in Georgia and Denise had a great solution for that as well! Danny Freeman transported the puppy to E PA for a very reasonable price and he had fantastic communication! If you are unable to pick up your puppy I recommend you ask Denise about this option. It was a life saver for me.

All in all, Country Side Corgis is a solid place to get a Corgi from. The attention to detail and care provided in all aspects of the breeding is second to none!!

Countryside Corgis knows the Pembroke Welsh Corgi (PWC) inside and out. This was the only breeder that we could identify that truly carries out the mission of improving the health and longevity of the breed. Having had lost two prior PWCs in our lives, we were looking for a breeder that truly understood degenerative myelopathy, von Willebrand’s disease, and other conditions that can be minimized with exceptional breeding standards and practices. Several factors made our decision to get puppies from Countryside Corgis. Countryside was one of the only breeders that we have found to genetically test the sires and dames for mindful mating pairs. Communication with Countryside has been exceptional from the point of our very first inquiry to the present, now that we own two puppy litter-mates. Questions are answered promptly, honestly, and with high regard for the health and well-being of the dogs. All education provided is supported by scientific and medical knowledge of the breed. We have been educated about breeding practices, puppy development, and adult dog health. Each and every dog associated with Countryside is treated as a valued member of the family. This breeder works tirelessly to make a warm, loving, and appropriately stimulating environment for sires, dames, and puppies. The dogs are cherished and it shines through in their temperaments. We love Countryside Corgis!! When others hear of our experience, everyone comments on how exceptional our breeder is (not just for corgis, but any dog breed).

I really can't say enough good things about our experience with Countryside Corgis! From first contact about a year ago to bringing our puppy home, I was confident we had found the right breeder. No question was left unanswered, no matter how small or off-the-wall. Denise really has seen it all, and it shows in how kind, patient, and funny her answers are! We felt completely at ease, right from the start.

When we got the email that our turn was up for a puppy, I cried a little. A Corgi has been my dream, and to be able to get one of Denise's Corgi's feels like a real privilege. When it came time to pick our puppy, Denise was so knowledgeable about the personality of each pup, and was able to advise me on which tri-color girl would be the best to pair up with a pony-size Doberman puppy that joined our family in June 2018.

We love our Hazel (Charlotte from Tilly and Loki's Sept 2018 litter). She's a little firecracker! She wares mommy out, and then moves on to her daddy. I let Denise know I wanted a smart puppy with lots of energy, the willingness to learn and have a job to do, and a happy, cheerful personality. We got all of that, and more! On her second full day, Hazel already knows "sit," is working on "down," and was able "work" for her breakfast by sitting on command and looking right into my eyes. She is adjusting well, and is great at playing by herself while I'm working!

She only meets her big Doberman brother in passing, but they touch noses each time. One day, when she's big enough, I'm sure they'll be great friends! We can already tell she'll probably outpace him in a race.

If and when I get another Corgi, there is no question I would return to Countryside Corgis. Not only is Denise dedicated to creating and maintaining a well-balanced breeding program, she also loves the Corgis very much, and it shows in the quality of her puppies and the happiness of her adult Corgis! We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

After a horrible experience buying our first corgi, I did some research about local breeders in the area who were passionate about corgis. This search eventually lead to meeting Denise and her husband, and our interaction with Countryside. We first saw their website full of adorable photos of their corgis, and it just gave me a good vibe, so to speak, about
the people whom we were going to select to raise and breed a dog with. After contacting Denise, and speaking to her for about thirty minutes about how much she loves these dogs, and how much happiness they bring her, I knew that Countryside Corgis was the breeder for me. Not only did Denise seem passionate, caring, and genuine about the dogs, it just "felt right". The interview process was a breeze, and we would receive weekly pupdates with pictures of our little buddy! Denise is the best! We have had Cookie (aka Marsala) for about 3 months now. Denise really took into consideration what we wanted most - a calm, low key puppy since we live in an apartment in NYC. Due to our spot on the wait-list, we were able to choose between two of the tri colored girls in the litter. During the first 8 weeks after the litter was born, Denise sent us weekly updates complete with really cute themed pictures! When it was time to pick a puppy, Denise was able to tell us with full confidence that Cookie had a much calmer disposition, played with toys by herself and would be the best fit for our lifestyle. We were able to get Cookie shipped directly to us. We had some mishaps with the driving company, so going forward I would suggest customers consider the flight option if you live a very long drive away. Denise was very much on top of things during the delivery, and everything was sorted out in the end. I really appreciate her professionalism and level of involvement during the whole process. Cookie has just completed her first puppy class and we couldn't be more proud of her! Denise is honestly a joy to work with, and we have already recommended her to one of our good friends who is now on the wait-list. In short, Countryside Corgis is amazing, I wholeheartedly recommend them if you are looking for a corgi addition to your family!

Best Corgi Breeder and Friend Ever!!!! We have two corgi's now, both from Denise, and the second experience was as great and wonderful as the first. We have Luci Loo who was 10 months when we got her from Denise 2 years and 2 months ago and now we have Sidni Coco who is 7 months and we got her when she was 9 weeks old. They each have their own personalities yet both are loving, wonderful, smart, personable little "people". They both have the best dispositions, little one is a little more stubborn and set in her ways but that is who she is. Who would want two dogs with identical personalities, how boring life would be. Denise, Eric and the boys take wonderful care of the puppies from the time they enter the world til the time they leave to come to there forever homes. The weekly updates are fantastic as you get to see your little munchkin grow, then you have the first meet and greet with your baby and Denise gives you plenty of time to spend with your new bundle of joy. Then the day arrives when you pick them up to bring them home and you can tell it is hard on Denise and the family to let them leave but she is very selective about who can purchase a puppy, which is just one of the things I love so much about her, so she knows there going to good loving homes. We send pictures to her of both the girls and send updates and she loves receiving them and always answers back. There is just no better Corgi breeder or friend(s). This will be the one constant whenever we decide to make our Corgi family bigger, Countryside Corgi's is top notch. We love you guys so much!!! My husband and I are thrilled with our experience with Countryside Corgis. I researched Pembroke Corgi breeders for some time before finding Countryside.
After carefully reading Countryside's website and looking at the Instagram photos, I felt that this breeder was responsible and trustworthy, and I was so right! From my first phone call until the day we picked up our wonderful puppy, Zephyr, aka Pearl, I knew that we had found one of the very best Corgi breeders! The fact that Denise actually took her time to contact our references let me know that she truly cares about how her puppies will be cared for in their new homes. Also, her dedication to health testing and thoughtful breeding practices sets Denise above many breeders.
Denise's puppies are raised in her home by the whole family and are given constant attention, love and guidance. Our puppy Zephyr loves people, our other dogs, and is eager to please and quick to learn. She is very confident, outgoing, and, of course, beautiful!

We got my Luci from Denise when she was 10 months old, she will be 3 years old this October 2017. My Mom & I brought home a new Corgi Pup family member a few months ago. Myles aka Player stole our hearts from the moment he picked us out at Countryside Corgis! I can’t begin to tell you how much joy he has brought us.
I observed the Countryside Corgis website for over a year. I read and studied the website information. I could tell before I ever contacted Denise that she loved and cared for her Corgis. I was impressed with her request for references. I carefully watched the pictures on Instagram and the website. It was evident to me that each Corgi was lovingly taken care of. The pups and dogs in the pictures were all smiling and happy! I was convinced that this was the only place that I would consider getting our next Corgi family member from.
I contacted Denise via email hoping that she would consider us as a potential family for one of her precious pups. After the email, I arranged a phone call to talk with her. I was so impressed. We talked at length about her philosophy and the care and attention each of her Corgis were given (almost 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon). She was kind and attentive. Each time I contacted Denise she answered all my questions with great care and attention.
We went to her home to look at the pups from the litter when the pups were ready and brought our beloved Myles aka Player home when he was 8 weeks old.
I want to let everyone know….Denise and Countryside Corgis are the best! Myles is so well adjusted and loving! And, he has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen on a Corgi! (No brag, just fact!). I am hoping his ears are as big as Sam’s! Those are the best ears ever!J
As you can tell, I still follow Instagram. I am hooked. I love looking at all the pups from the litters grow. It makes me smile! Just like the pups and dogs in the pictures!

Working with Countryside Corgis has been a wonderful experience. We brought Coach into our family in 2015. He has been the best companion we could have asked for. He is sweet, excited, full of energy and the best snuggle buddy! Even with those corgi legs he is an excellent swimmer and enjoys miles of hiking. Working with Countryside Corgi has been an amazing experience so far. From asking questions regarding buying a puppy, actually booking a puppy, visiting a puppy, and picking up a puppy, we enjoyed every step of the process. They couldn't have done a better job.

From my first contact with Denise at Countryside Corgis she responded to each of my emails very quickly and answered my questions. Communication is so very important and we were given weekly updates, pictures, info on what was happening at the Vet office and so on. The trips to the vet were weekly. I waited for my pictures every Friday. We made the trip up on week five to pick out our handsome Brady. When we arrived the place was perfect.
